We’ve been doing a lot of swimming this week. Today we went to the beach. At home our tall house and tall trees cushion us from the wind, so we never really know how windy it is until we get out in wide open spaces. The lake is a wide open space. And we found out it was quite windy. The waves weren’t exactly like the painting. We were on a Wisconsin lake, not the ocean. But you get the picture. We bounced around for awhile, but we spent more time in the sand and on the monkey bars. My girls finally learned how to do the monkey bars. Their brother tried valiantly and dropped every time:)

Still, I think we were all happy to have chosen the longer drive to the beach rather than the short drive to the local pool. Nothing is quite so fascinating to watch as the moving surface of the water.
